3. How We Use Your Information

- Display your listings to potential renters across Ghana.
- Send you transactional emails such as email verification, password reset and listing approval or rejection notifications.
- Protect the platform from fraud, spam and malicious activity.
- Allow admin to verify listing accuracy using private information like house numbers.
- Improve the platform experience based on usage patterns.
- Notify the admin when a user deletes their account for security monitoring.

4. Information Visible to Other Users
When you create a listing, the following information is visible to all users and visitors:
- Your listing title, description, photos and price.
- Your listing location (region, district and landmark and not house number).
- Your name and contact number (so renters can reach you directly).
- Your region.
The following information is private and only visible to admin:
- Your full email address (not shown on public listing pages).
- House number (for property listings and used for admin verification only).
- Your account deletion date and reason (if applicable).
- Your IP address (stored in activity logs for security purposes).
5. Email Communications
By creating an account on EasyRentGh, you agree to receive the following transactional emails:
- 📧 Email verification code when you register.
- 🔑 Password reset code when you request it.
- ✅ Listing approval notification when your listing is approved.
- ❌ Listing rejection notification with reason when your listing is rejected.
- ⚠️ Account deletion notification sent to admin when you delete your account.
Transactional and marketing emails are sent only when triggered by your actions on the platform.
6. Data Retention & Account Deletion
When you delete your account on EasyRentGh:
- Your account is soft-deleted — it is deactivated but your data is preserved in our database for security and audit purposes.
- You will no longer be able to log in.
- Your listings are also soft-deleted and hidden from public view.
- Admin can restore your account if needed.
- Your data may be permanently deleted by admin after review.
⚠️ Even after account deletion, certain information may be retained in activity logs and admin records for fraud prevention and security purposes as permitted by law.
7. Security
We take security seriously and have implemented the following measures to protect your data:
- 🔒 All passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
- 📧 Email verification is required for all new accounts using a 6-digit code.
- 🔑 Password resets use a 6-digit expiring code sent to your email.
- 📝 All key actions are logged in the system activity log for security monitoring.
- 🛡️ Security headers are applied to all pages to prevent common web vulnerabilities.
- 🧹 All user inputs are sanitized to prevent SQL injection and cross-site scripting (XSS).
8. Cookies
EasyRentGh uses essential cookies to maintain your login session and keep you authenticated while browsing the platform. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
- Session cookies — required for login and authentication.
- CSRF tokens — required to protect forms from cross-site attacks.

EasyRentGh may link to third-party services such as WhatsApp for direct communication. When you click a WhatsApp link, you leave EasyRentGh and are subject to WhatsApp's own privacy policy.

As a user of EasyRentGh, you have the right to:
